Managing tools
Administrators can choose which tools AI clients can use. Go to RealMCP → Tools in WordPress.
Each tool shows its name, whether it reads or writes, what it does and how often it was used in the period the activity log keeps. Flip the switch and click Save tools.
What a disabled tool does
Section titled “What a disabled tool does”- It disappears from the tool list clients see.
- If a client calls it anyway, the call is rejected with
ballesdev_mcp_tool_disabled, and the attempt is recorded in the activity log. - The server’s instructions tell the AI which tools are disabled, so it doesn’t plan around them.
- It’s also blocked for other routes to the same abilities, such as the MCP Adapter plugin.
Tools added in future versions start enabled.
Read-only access
Section titled “Read-only access”Turn off save-page and the AI can only read your site: the other six tools never change anything.
When the change applies
Section titled “When the change applies”Connected clients can take up to 5 minutes to notice a change, because they cache the tool list. Reconnecting the client applies it right away.
